Hello! I am newly out of college and starting my second year teaching in an urban public school! As a first year teacher, I am just starting to develop my classroom resources, supplies, and library. This year I will be teaching 1st grade with a classroom of 25 students. The student population is majority low-income, with a large population of English Language Learners and immigrant families.
Our classroom space is small and I am looking to make the most of it! I want all students to feel safe and comfortable in their classroom community through the creation of different sensory spaces for students to take a break from the typical classroom setting. Furthermore, I am hoping to build a meaningful classroom library for my students to develop a sense of love of reading in our classroom. All help is welcomed and appreciated by both myself and my students! Thank you!
