MakerSpaces have been proven to improve student interest and performance in the area of STEM. With today's changing skillset for 21st Century Learners the stakes are higher than ever for our students. We need to make sure they are prepared for the future and that includes being problem solvers and inventive thinkers.
MakerSpaces allow students to explore their interests and learn in a way that they aren't normally given the opportunity to do. The MakerSpace will include everyday items for creating along with coding, robotics, and engineering tools. The items requested will allow students to code and program with LittleBits, Makey Makeys, and Cubelets. These are all items recommended by our local MoreNet trainers for MakerSpaces. They help students learn how to code and program with a hands on approach. It will give all of the students in our schoool weekly access to creating, inventing, and tinkering!
