My students need more experiences outside of what I can provide them in my classroom. They need access to current and global events. I want my students to read about issues that affect their future. With a subscription to Time for Kids, I hope they will be inspired to solve some of the challenging social and scientific issues that impact their world. I want them to be actively engaged in the process of reading about a variety of topics in social studies and science and use those events to promote their ideas for change and a problem solving approach. My students would greatly benefit from knowing about their world and using that knowledge to participate in their future. Sadly, my students don't get to see much beyond their limited scope of school and apartments/neighborhood. I want them to explore and experience beyond this two mile radius of their neighborhood. More importantly, I want them to be a global citizen and contribute to solving real problems. They need access to information so they can begin to understand they are part of something bigger than themselves. Please help me.
