My students need a variety of tools that will blend science manipulatives and literacy to create one captivating learning environment. My students learn best through hands-on-experiences in Life Science, Earth and Space Science, Physical Science, Engineering, and Math. I would like my students to have the opportunity to think and become scientists in the classroom. The STEAM materials will help engage my students in their own learning that will result in a thorough understanding of science concepts; provide understanding and appreciation for science; accommodate multi-intelligence learners and learners with special needs; increase student performance on standardized tests and benchmark assessments and implement research-based teaching practices in daily instruction.
This project is critical for my students because it will help drive their imagination and vision for the future of STEAM. My students need to be able to focus on science concepts that they have a difficult time mastering using traditional text-based science curriculum. They need the opportunity to work beyond worksheets and cookie-cutter textbook material. We know that science initiates and can grow critical thinking kids who will advance the world into a new tomorrow. Incorporating a variety of science manipulatives and literacy into science curriculum is imperative for helping my students develop their science mastery level that goes beyond text-based learning. You can inspire the hearts of developing minds and prepare them to step up to the challenges in Science! I want my students to be able to explore new programs that are designed to inspire the next generation of thinkers and makers. The American industry was built on innovation!
