This 6th-grade elective class will explore the elements of a horror story and give students an opportunity to craft their own.
Students will be able to create their own world of chills and suspense in this electives class. This project will need mentor texts to draw inspiration and ideas from. Students will use the mentor texts to study how certain authors use different elements to scare readers, and will then craft stories of their own.
By publishing their works, they will be able to share with younger audiences at local elementary schools and take pride in their hard work.
