Instilling a love of reading is a must for every classroom, and one of the best ways to do so is building an exciting and extensive classroom library. However, since I am a first-year teacher, my library is not as full as it should be! I am a believer in choice and want to provide my students with options so that they can continue to choose what they read and remain authentically excited to read. Students will also benefit from an easel for writers workshop because it will allow them to collaborate and learn right alongside their classmates! The easel will allow me to bring students together to help ensure that all students feel our classroom is a safe place where we learn together, grow together and make mistakes together. Around the easel, students know they are in a safe place where their classmates will pick them up and help them grow.
