A place where my class can join together is essential to our classroom. My students need a designated place in our classroom where they are able to discuss important topics, read to one another, and where the whole class can meet each morning for greeting, sharing, and group activities. As a class, we will be able to develop relationships, create stories, and participate in whole body learning. The hope is that we can have a more positive and comfortable environment by providing a place for my students to work together. This carpet will provide ample opportunities of alternative places to sit in the classroom. There will be math and literacy centers, writer's workshop mini-lessons, guided reading options, and morning meeting happening on this carpet everyday. By allowing my students to use the carpet, we will be able to build a closer community in our classroom and provide a safe environment for learning.
