As sophomores, we study all things surrounding WWII and the Holocaust and read Night as a class. These particular books will help my students learn and expand their knowledge about World War II. The use of book clubs will also give my students choice in their learning.
With the wide variety of these new books, students can choose a topic that interests them the most.
Reading more will help students develop a better vocabulary, develop a higher level of concentration, and develop a better sense of world events (Japan at the end of WWII, for example).
