As an educator, it is my job to meet the needs of all learners in a student centered classroom. I want to create an environment that is warm and welcoming. I want students to feel safe so they can take risks. I will foster a growth mindset in my students where we learn from our mistakes.
Using a blended learning model, I will have different areas in the classroom for students to inquire, collaborate, read, solve problems, create, and learn. The chairs, rugs, and shelves will create a cozy corner that students can retreat to when they need a comfortable and quiet place to read. The clipboards will allow students to sit in other areas of the classroom to collaborate with each other. The storage containers will organizer math games to build fluency in an engaging way.
