Middle school students deal with so much stress - friendships, family, homework, after school activities, preparing for high school...all on top of growth spurts and hormonal changes. Items, such as these requested therapy putty, fidget cubes, Ice Cubes gum, and kinetic sand, are used to help students build the self-regulation skills they need to sustain focus on their learning and keep calm when navigating personal relationships. My students need sensory tools to help them learn self-regulation skills. The sensory items help students stay in class while learning to stay calm, which helps keep academic skills from falling behind. They also aid kids by providing engaging ways to practice remaining in an emotional state that allows for maximum focus.
