Next year we will be combining two 7th grade classrooms into a larger, collaborative learning space. Students will be empowered to work side by side with their peers to understand more about the world around them through the study of civics. We want to give them opportunity to learn more about the government, citizenship, international affairs, and the foundation of our country.
This collaborative space will give our students a voice to help understand the problems that we have faced in the past so that they can be prepared to solve the problems of the future. The creative art supplies will enhance our study through the creation of journal writings, newspapers, role playing, simulations, vocabulary drawings, and art representations of famous historians. Having these supplies on hand will allow us to teach without interruption. We hope that our collaborative learning space becomes a working museum of sorts- so that other students and teachers can walk in and see a pictorial representation of our country.
