Ever since introducing music to my students by playing my guitar, I could tell they were itching to get their hands on an instrument. Creating music is gratifying and I want to give my students the chance to do so.
Kindergarteners have limited fine motor skills and that's why I have chosen a xylophone to introduce the chromatic scale. With the xylophones, there are hundreds of songs they can reproduce and sing along to with their classmates.
I want to provide a foundation for my kindergarteners to practice reading music and transferring the notes to the instrument. Studies have shown that by knowing how to play an instrument, your ability to manage other aspects of learning come easier. I want to make life a little easier for my students!
