I want my students to be able to express themselves and get a lot of practice with writing. With the individual whiteboard markers, students will each have the opportunity to respond to questions in writing individually before they are asked to respond to the whole class or with a partner. This gives them the time they need to think and gives me the opportunity to give feedback quickly and effectively. Students are able to work quicker with whiteboards and it is easier for me to read them and give them feedback when they are using black marker on their boards versus using pencil on paper.
I love when my students are able to be creative with language and one of the ways we do that in my classroom is through illustrations of novels that the class writes together. We spend time in class telling and writing stories which I hope to make into books so that I can create a library for my students in Spanish that is comprehensible that includes their very own artwork. We need a good set of simple markers in order to make these illustrations colorful and engaging.
