Many of my students have a difficult time sitting and focusing for long periods of time. This leads to behavioral issues such as sleeping in class, fidgeting and distracting others. When students are able to move their bodies, they can activate their brains for learning. In the classroom, students typically sit for 90 minutes at a time between recesses until the end of the day. For many students, usually my active boys, disconnect during lessons because they have been sitting for too long.
I believe the combination of these fitness tools will motivate their desire to learn and activate their minds to stay focused in school. If someone funds my project, I will provide multiple opportunities throughout the day to give my students "brain breaks" by exercising using the fit board and rotating the 12 stability balls and 5 Simply Fit Boards throughout the week so everyone can get a chance to sit on them regularly. There are 4 fourth grade teachers at our school who've made accounts with 第一吃瓜网.org to provide the same fitness tools for their students. A donor sponsored them and now their students enjoy the fitness tools. The teachers said it has helped with behavioral issues tremendously and their kids love them! I am convinced that the more physical activity that children are engaged in, the better their focus and engagement will be in school.
