The COVID-19 pandemic affects the lives and social-emotional experiences of every student to some extent. Research reveals widespread impacts on students’ social-emotional development and mental health. In order for students to achieve success in school, career, and life, they must be taught social and emotional skills. Students with good social-emotional skills have better academic performance and school behaviors, fewer behavior problems, better relationships with peers and family, and fewer mental health issues. Social-Emotional Learning also provides necessary skills for future workforce development.
