Distance learning was traumatic for most students. With the help of these resources I can help them deal with their emotions using the spot series. I also plan to use this series to teach students important life skills. This aligns with our schools MTSS plan, be respectful, responsible and safe. I have added a class set of lab coats and googles to get kids engaged and excited about learning again. These coats will create the most dramatic and scientific students, I can鈥檛 wait to see what joy and excitement they bring to the love of learning when they are engaging in their STEM activities. Books on inclusion are important to me given the population I work with. I want students to see themselves in our classroom library.
Additional items requested are flexible seating options for my students and center activities. These hands on, self correcting centers will allow me the time to work in a small reading group with out interruptions. While the flexible seating will help get the wiggles out.
Organization and comfort is key in the classroom, for me and my students. Using some items from the list I hope to provide a safe and warm space for my students to learn and build lasting memories.
