My students are from a rural, low income school. With these two traits, travel and family vacations are not a priority. Having that said, it falls on me as the teacher to create situations that my students are able to experience historical events and give them the prior knowledge to become excited and be successful in social studies. I try to bring as many interactive experiences as I can to the classroom.
