Due to the lack of vocabulary and background knowledge of the low economic and second language students, I need to provide them with experiences that with build these areas.
Having a listening center and quality fiction and nonfiction texts will give the students time to hear stories being read to them. Hearing stories read to is a key way to build this knowledge and increase their vocabulary. Most of us had these experiences in our home growing, but many of these students do not for a multiple of reasons. I want to thank you in advance for considering to help with this increasing issue with our students.
