I work with K3-5th grade students (approx. 40-45 students total) at Hawthorne Elementary. The majority of my kiddos are K3-K5, therefore I am hoping to provide them with hands-on, engaging materials that they can actively interact with to help them reach their goals. In one day, I work with many children with various communication needs, from expressive and receptive language to speech sound production. This means that both I, and my students, need to get creative to utilize our materials to serve our many different needs and ages! Additionally, this is my 2nd year working for Milwaukee Public Schools and also my 2nd year as a school-based speech therapist (I'm fresh out of graduate school!). I believe in curriculum-based therapy to maximize students' ability to generalize skills to the classroom and beyond. I also love using literature as a tool to address each and every one of my student's goals.
