East High School is the US's most diverse high school - no one ethnic group makes up more than 30%. It is also a Title 1 school, and many of my students have substantial challenges outside of school. I work hard to make science interesting and applicable to their lives. Hands down, the best way to get students to learn science is to get them doing it! Not only do they learn the content better, but the process of designing experiments, carrying them out, and sharing their results makes what they learn in the science classroom much more relevant and transferable.
I teach Chemistry and Conceptual Chemistry to students in grades 10-12.
