Basic school supplies are used daily in the classroom. Unfortunately, many of the students enter the classroom without necessary tools like pencils and paper to complete work, journals for their interactive notebooks, scissors/glue to cut and paste items into their interactive notebooks, or folders to not only maintain classwork but to also be used to carry daily communication back and forth with parents. Each and every item is essential to the academic success of my third grade students.
Have you ever known you needed something but realized there was absolutely no way for you to get it? Well, that's the way many of my students feel at the beginning of the school year. Unfortunately, some of them feel that way more than once if they happen to run out of supplies before the year is through. By providing these essential tools for students, you are ensuring they can focus on classroom lessons instead of feeling embarrassed about not having what they know they need. These babies cannot control the economic circumstances surrounding their families, but your help can increase their chance at having a successful third grade year!
