For my more energetic students, sitting in a traditional plastic chair for 20- to 45-minute periods can be a daunting challenge. I plan to use the Learniture active learning stools for individual students' seats and at my guided reading center. Students who twist and turn uncomfortably in their seats will benefit from having backless stools, which will give them more freedom of movement. The Learrniture and plastic stacking stools would allow me to comfortably accommodate small groups at the guided reading table without taking up much valuable classroom space.
My students with AD/HD spend a great deal of time rolling and rocking in their chairs -- sometimes leading to some nasty spills on the carpet! The wobble chairs will allow give students more freedom to move in a way that does not distract them or their peers from academic work.
