The purpose of decorating a classroom is to create a functional learning environment for children. Students in the area have very hard home lives and come to school trying to find a welcoming place to learn. Students need to feel comfortable in the classrooms in order to learn. Flexible seating can give the students opportunities to get out of their regular desks and work alone or with someone in comfortable seating. This can also be used as an incentive to pay attention in the classroom. We can use these different seating areas to break down our math and reading intervention groups. These groups specifically work on skills the students are lacking. In conclusion, these items will help the students feel more at home and create a fun learning environment.
