We need soil and tools to revitalize our garden to help beautify our campus and to incorporate into our science curriculum ( K-8). The garden will be used for farm to table activities, nutrition, science/ math curriculum and environmental awareness. Students will have an opportunity to work on real-world problems and be exposed to engineering design principles. This helps abstract issues become more concrete and accessible to all, but especially the lower learners and English learners. It will also hopefully lead to healthy eating habits. Students will learn what plants are best adapted to our environment and how to create a drought tolerant landscape that is well suited for our semi-desert climate.
