I am the luckiest teacher. Every day I work with 6th graders who are working and learning together. The subject areas taught in my class are Language Arts (reading, writing, and thinking) and Social Studies. Social Studies is taught with an emphasis on being a global citizen.
Our class is in a Title 1 school. The majority of our students receive free or reduced price breakfast and lunch. Many take home bags of food for the weekend. Despite the economic hardships they face, my students are ready to work and learn. They appreciate any and all of the support they receive.
