Prior to becoming self-contained classes at my school, I taught emergent students whose library were leveled between 1st and 4th grade. Now, my students cover a wide spectrum of levels. Students are allowed to check out two books from our school library, but many times fast readers finish their books before the library's open check out time occurs. At these times, students are allowed to visit the classroom's library to find books to continue their reading during AR times. With the addition of the books requested, more of my students reading needs will be met to meet Accelerated Reading goals, and their overall reading needs.
