My students are learning about technology, and the hardest lesson to teach at the middle school level is the engine power cycle. It just doesn't click without a demonstration. I think the motors here will help get their hands dirty into the lesson and make a lasting impression, which my textbook can never do.
The Smithsonian Motor Works kits are an arms deep experience in building a real motor without the danger of gasoline or heavy steel.
The smaller electric motors will hook to batteries to propel their own inventions.
Help my kids, who are in poverty, explore an aspect of city technology they can't afford themselves.
