My students are 16 of the most intriguing and inquisitive 3rd graders. They are from an inner city school which is often depicted as underperforming and 'bad'. One of the many schools in communities of color overwhelmed by poverty. Two months ago, I could count on one hand the number of students that enjoyed reading. After revealing my library and my own obsession with reading, I have convinced the majority of them that reading is fun!
