When I teach my students, academic lessons are not the only lessons that I hope to teach them; I want to teach them about life as well. I feel that because I have these children for 8 hours out of a day, it is also my responsibility to teach character. I am able to teach my students many academic enrichment activities, but I am also able to incorporate life lessons into my daily routine.
My classroom is a very diverse classroom with children from several different economic situations as well as several different ethnic backgrounds. I continually try to incorporate the arts into my lessons as well as academia. I feel that incorporating the many different multiple intelligence aspects into my lessons, it broadens my students learning and truly helps to differentiate the lessons that are being taught.
