The materials would help my children by providing them reinforcement from previous and that day's lesson. They will learn left to right progression while reading and how to listen attentively during a story. They will also have the opportunity to see pictures explaining the mainline of the book.
With the word building tiles they will have the opportunity to build sight words. They will also sound out the words as they are completed. The children will use their fine motor skills while placing the tiles together to form the words.
With the number match the children will practice counting from one to twenty and recognizing that number once both sides are placed together. They will also use their fine motor skills with this activity.
