Students often struggle to choose books for independent reading. Graphic novels can often facilitate reading for students, as they are more willing to engage and invest in a new story. These books represent different genres, such as the historic Maus, as well as books that reflect their diverse lived experiences, such as Ghosts and Your Black friend, and a wide range of lengths and reading levels. And, finally, we need need a bookshelf to complete our cozy reading nook.
With high-interests books and a place to hunker down to read, we will make our reading experience as joyful as possible!
