I am teaching the second year of CSI Medical Detectives STEM course from Project Lead the Way with over 400 students enrolled this year. The initial year of the MD program saw a huge positive response, prompting the introduction of an Advance level semester course for previous students and adding an additional 7th grade track. These 4 additional semester classes increased enrollment in the MD program by 25% (108 students more) from the previous year.
The Medical Detectives class has been very popular and I am in need of more funds to cover the large expense of hands-on supplies for sheep brain dissections and crime scene investigation activities.
ALL supplies will go directly into my Medical Detectives classroom and be used for direct hands-on CSI learning experiences. My students come from a rural farming community in SC and do not have access to this unique curriculum outside of school.
