This year, my students need a lot of guided practice as well as teacher modeling in English and Spanish. By having a dry erase board in the classroom, students may have access to share their work while other students have access to the smartboard for visuals.
It's challenging to toggle between the smartboard notebook application and trying to also have visuals displayed at the same time. Students may have additional writing space on the dry erase board to display their thinking process.
By giving low-income students access to other classroom resources, they can appreciate their learning and learn from each other. Furthermore, if the students have access to the dry erase board they don't have to go back and forth on the smart board. Students may go to the dry erase board during math lessons and demonstrate their strategies and compare their thinking.
