The 30 graphing calculators and algebraic class set will be used every day in our math classes. The hands-on-algebra set will demonstrate a different take on solving mathematical problems. Our school cannot afford to supply all of the math classes available with any form of a calculator, but with your donation, my class will not be one of them. With the transition to Common Core mathematics, students have been given larger, real-world problems that require technology at an earlier age. Introducing graphing calculators in the tenth grade means that by the time they go to college they will know how to use this technology.
Giving low-income students access to new technology is an investment in their future.
These graphing calculators allow students to tackle larger and more complex math problems, which will prepare them for college-level work.
