Our campus educates 1,144 students each day. A large number of our students come from homes where one or two parents work multiple jobs. Students from these families help to raise younger siblings and sometimes work to supplement the family income. Our campus is 73.5% economically disadvantaged and 20.5% Limited English Proficient. In spite of these barriers, our students eagerly arrive to band each day with a sense of purpose, camaraderie and an intentional mindset towards success. The band program can be quite expensive. As a result, we often have families that cannot afford band or have students that are at a severe deficiency hindering their access to purchase supplies and function successfully on a daily basis. Our classroom is filled with equipment that belongs to our teaching staff. While we enjoy letting our students use equipment that they need, it is impossible to supply every single one of our 300 students
