Isolated, struggling, and utterly exhausted; this is still the reality for many of my students. The Covid-19 pandemic turned students' lives upside down. They became disconnected and socially anxious. Many of them now find solace in the school library. My goal is to use technology to assist in the transition back into the school environment.
My students deserve to feel connected, supported, and rejuvenated! This can be accomplished by informing and entertaining them with a 70-in. television. This display will allow me to notify students of upcoming school events like sports, clubs, fundraisers, and student celebrations.
This LCD TV will help them feel connected to their school community and celebrating our teams and clubs will give them the confidence and motivation to succeed. Specifically it will help with (NVAC LIB 9-12 6.G.1 Personalize their use of information and information technologies... Use print, non-print, and electronic information resources for information about personal needs.) The display will also be used to inform students of new book arrivals and book trailers to entertain and encourage reading for pleasure. (NVAC LIB 9-12 5.T.1 Read widely and deeply in multiple formats and write and create for a variety of purposes.)
I am confident that funding this project will ease some of the anxiety from the return to school by making them feel informed and connected again.
