Make a donation Ms. Schumacher can use on her next classroom project.
The donations to this project will give my students a non-conventional approach to learning in our classroom. Students will be provided with opportunities for different seating options in the classroom to determine which option works best for their learning. As a recent graduate student, I found myself going to local coffee shops in the area to determine which environment and seating option at those locations worked best for my learning. I want to create this same environment for my students.
The Hokki stools will provide more movement while working for students who are always on the go.
The balance discs will be for whole group learning where students sit together for mini lessons. The discs will provide movement to wiggly learners to help them focus. This will also be a tool for students during work times if they choose to sit at a coffee table.
The yoga mats will provide a soft space on the floor for students who are non-convential and like to work laying down.
"If student motivation and higher engagement is truly the desired end game, then we as teachers must adapt right along with our students in our classrooms." (Delzer, Kayla)
