My students love to learn but they also love to move. We need flexible seating options that will help them do both such as: hokki stools (wobble chairs), balance cushions, and bouncy foot bands. These supplies will allow my students to move while they are learning. Moving helps students with anxiety, focus, and helps keep blood flowing to their brain's (alertness).I want them to know that they can learn even when they have the wiggles. I believe these seating options will help the variety of learners in our classroom regulate their energy and emotions.
Even us "grown ups" can't sit still all day. We know how to meet our needs so that we are productive. However, these students don't have that opportunity without the resources at their disposal. I want to have options available so that they can learn to choose for themselves what will help them learn and see that they can be amazing just like I know they are already!
