In the past 4 years at my school in East Oakland, we have not had access to a color printer -not teachers, not students. I've gotten creative about printing in B&W and using markers to spice up printed posters and the likes. However, when it comes to my seniors' needs, a color printer is a non-negotiable.
My students are housed in the media, which means that technology and design is incorporated in everything we do. From custom and modern-style resumes to real life propaganda projects, my students are designers and need to be able to see their work come to life and in color!
This project will help fund a color printer for all seniors (and any other student-designers in need) as well as ink to replenish throughout the year. The ink that is part of this project includes a full set of color for the color printer in the project as well as a black toner for the purpose of being able to use a b&w printer that has been in my classroom for a while, but hasn't had any ink to print because the school claims it's too expensive to purchase. It will help bring another printer to life!
