My kindergartners are fun-loving and active little ones. They love to learn and play. Our school doesn't have the funding to provide recess equipment for each classroom. Every day, when the bell rings for recess, my sweet little 5-year-olds ask, "What can we do at recess?" We talk about ways they can be creative with what we have. My students wonder why we don't have balls for them to play with. They would love to be able to jump rope or hula hoop during their 60 minutes of active time. My students have asked for a variety of balls, jump ropes and hula hoops to help them be more active at recess.
I have some students each year that have a hard time sitting still. Wobble stools would help them to move and focus during independent work time.
