We are eager to start using these with our students because we want them to learn the value of taking notes. We all teach at a High School in New Orleans and when our students go off to college their professors won't micromanage how they take notes in class. We need to prepare my kids for taking notes autonomously. We look forward to giving each student a graph paper notebook and using the printing labels to print examples and problem sets so that the notebook becomes their hand-made and tailor-made textbook that they use to study for upcoming exams. We want them to love taking notes and to cherish their journal by the end of the year and bring it to college so if they take Math in college they can use it as a reference. We hope that they will use this math journal as an example of how to take notes in a variety of classes that they will take in college and beyond.
If our project is funded, then students in our rooms will learn to love and see the value in taking notes.
We can use the journals as sources for students to study from. Students will become autonomous in taking notes during their high school careers which will also prepare them for college success.
