The students in my classroom have graduated high school and are now entering the "transition" period. They are age 18-22 and they come to "work" each day to complete several tasks. We simulate real life work experiences for the students with Autism to better prepare them for life beyond the classroom walls. Having office chairs to sit in during the day will let my students know that they are no longer the typical student who sits in a standard desk, but an "employee" who has an office chair like Mom or Dad. They will feel like the young adults that they are. What pride they will feel in having their own office chair!
