My students are bright and energetic. They have mental and/or emotional disabilities that affect their behavior and relationships. Many of them have had bad experiences in the regular classrooms and are relieved when they come to a class made just for them. Many times I have to teach them coping skills. They want to hit or throw things and many times just cry or scream. They need help to learn productive ways to deal with life. I hope to do this through art and modeling appropriate behavior. My kids are very spicy with a good sense of humor. Many times they don't think before they act as many have ADHD. In essence, these are the students that other teachers have turned away. I would rather teach these kids than any other. I love them and want them to have the same resources and opportunities that the other students have. We are in dire need of art materials. My students are very creative and would use them with pride. Thank you for the opportunity!
