We are requesting items to be placed in our sensory room, and I know exactly where they will go! There is so much research backed behind sensory play and rooms, that my hope is that I can better support my students with Autism by providing light up bubble tubes, weighted blankets, fidgets, calming ocean projections and sounds, and so much more! I wish I could click buy on each of these items, but as you already know teachers are not rolling in the dough, and I would really appreciate your support.
It is critical to have a sensory room or space in the classroom and school that supports language development, cognitive growth, motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interaction in all students, but especially students with Autism.
By donating to my project, my students with Autism will ultimately benefit from these sensory items in more ways than we all can imagine! My students need to be taught how to manage stress and over stimulations from their environments! The one device allows for the ceiling to look like they are laying under the ocean... how relaxing is that?!
My school is adding an additional self-contained Autism room for rising Kindergarteners and I'm so excited to be taking on their role as their teacher this year!
