Do you remember sitting in your classroom, at your desk, and your teacher stood in the front giving a lecture? Well, times have changed, and now working in a small group is the norm. If you come into my classroom you will see small group learning. The students love working in small groups!
Small group lessons allow my children to feel important in the classroom. They are able to receive individualized instruction, in small flexible groupings based on their instructional goals and gaps.
The kidney table will allow the students to feel like they belong and are important, working more one-on-one with the teacher.
Working one-on-one with the students will allow for me to see the strengths and weaknesses of the students. It is just as important to see how they thrive as how they struggle. Being able to highlight the accomplishments and patch up the holes is key to a successful year!
