All students want to be able to showcase their learning. These tablets will allow my students to do just that. Through apps like seesaw my students will be able to record and share their reading, explain their thinking on a math problem, take pictures of their phonics work and so much more. Nothing is more fulfilling to a child than being able to show off something they have produced.
I will be able to provide exactly what each student needs to help them grow as a learner. Having access to the tablets daily will allow me to provide apps and activities that meet the needs of my students in an alternative way other than paper and pencil. I can set up sorts for phonics, math problems and problem solving for math centers, students can research for science and social studies. It will allow students to have a sense of independence!
In addition, the tablets will aid my students in reading through access to audible books and online stories for my young readers to both read along with and enjoy. As a primary teacher there is nothing I want more than for my students to find the joy and love in reading. Allowing them access to online stories would allow them additional time to fall in love with books! The possibilities are endless as to how my students can benefit from having these tablets in the classroom and I am researching every day on new ways to incorporate them into lessons and I am sure they will have some innovating ideas as well!
