Fun and engaging centers will help my students who are struggling with learning to read. Pop-it fidgets and tap on tap off lights will make segmenting and blending seem like a game. Have you ever seen a kindergartener that didn't like to look at themselves in a mirror? They can see what their mouths look like when they make letter sounds. Brightly colored paper and foam will make manipulatives that are exciting and fun to use when blending and segmenting.
Who doesn't want to spend their time having fun? Shh...don't tell these kinder kiddos they are learning! Learning alphabet letters will be great fun with brightly colored games.
After learning alphabet letters and sounds, blending and segmenting, students can use whiteboards and markers to write sentences using what they've learned.
