The access to technology on a daily basis will help those without the tools the opportunity to create and demonstrate learning beyond the paper and pencil. We utilize the applications provided in the Google Education Suite and this increased availability will create a work environment where eventually all students will be able to submit their work electronically.
A master woodworker is nothing more than a weekend carpenter without the proper tools.
My students will be on the Chromebooks daily using them for videoconferencing with other students in our district and aboard. Additionally, they will taking virtual field trips as they come from limited life experiences and the increased daily technology will enhance their exposure to places aboard. Finally, I envision a classroom using a blended model where I become the facilitator of the learning and the students are the teachers.
This technology enhancement will create an environment where learning is demonstrated in more than one medium. These students are often limited in the life experiences they come to school with and this technology will help take them to places they could have never imagined.
