The printer will ensure that we have a communication exchange system available to allow those students who are non-verbal the ability to have a voice. We print social stories that are helpful if a child needs extra support when separating from a parent, using the restroom, or learning to play (rather than hit) their peers. Visuals are also important in helping all students transition. We use pictures and other printed text to create schedules, ensure that families are represented in our classroom, keep students aware of their jobs for the week, plus a plethora of other ways that encourage literacy and learning throughout our classroom.
