The use of stability balls in the classroom is becoming ever more popular. With students needing more movement to stay engaged in the classroom, stability balls can help to achieve the learning needed in the classroom.
All students can benefit from the use of stability balls in the classroom. Specifically, students with ADHD are also more likely to concentrate and perform with the use of stability balls. In my three years of teaching, the number of ADHD students in the classroom has increased tremendously. With the increase of students with ADHD, stability balls would help accommodate and provide a well rounded classroom environment that suits different students.
According to American Journal of Occupational Therapy, students with ADHD are more successful in the classroom when using a stability ball. Stability balls are also more likely to help students who have ADHD that are not taking medication or students who have not been identified with ADHD.
I would like to have stability balls for each student in the classroom. I believe that by using the stability balls, students are more likely to participate and actively learn in the classroom.
